Welcome to the life and times of the Sommer Family. We treasure each day as a gift. "Pour out your heart like water before the face of the Lord. Lift up your hands toward him for the life of your children..." Lamentiations 2:19 We hope our viewers will too!

Baseball Bonding
This is Nathan's first year to be a part of a Little League team. He is loving it!!! Eric has taken him to every practice and helps out wherever the coach directs. Eric and Nathan have had some great times together. The team is starting to actually use the skills they've been learning and having fun. There's only four games left this season. Go NATHAN!!!

Memorial Day
It's been a long day. We took the puppies for a walk then relaxed in the backyard. Our neighbors joined us for a cookout, the kids swam in our pool and did a craft project. Next we cleaned up and took naps .
Thanks to all those military personal and their families who have sacraficed much for the freedoms we often take for granted.

Responsability Awareness
The growing, healthy, playful puppies are getting into everything!!! They chew on almost everything; Abby's toys- she's learning to pick up now, shoes, each other, the table legs, Sadie's dish of dog food and etc. The chicks need to be let in and out of their coop, fed and watered a couple times a day. Between puppies and chicks the family chores seem to have double overnight!
Isn't funny that when the newness wears off so does the attitude of wanting to help maintain care, feeding, cleaning, etc. It doesn't matter what we have- a new car, a new house, a new pet, a new relationship, they all need attention on a regular basis.
I pray that our whole family succeeds in this new arena of added responsability and continues to keep growing in those prior (school work, home chores, friends) to puppies and chicks. God promises, our reward will be great.

Life in a dry and dusty land
Abby and I added pink vinca's and purple mexican heather to my Mother's Day garden. They give a colorful edge to the garden's butterfly bush and four rose bushes. I long for flowers full of color in this dry and dusty land. (I had wonderful gardens in Maryland and I miss them often.) Flowers remind me of the everlasting life we posess as believers in Jesus. Life in this desert has often reminded me of Psalm 63 "O Lord, you are my God; I earnestly search for you. My soul thirsts for you; my whole body longs for you in this parched and weary land where there is no water. . . . I sing for joy in the shadow of your protecting wings. I will follow close behind you; your strong right hand holds me securely. . . ."
