A Little Color in my Yard

This garden was planted on Mother's Day. We have been praying and watching the plants bloom and grow with magnificent color. It's a lovely spot in the middle of the high plains desert.

God gives us blessings in the simplest pleasures!

More NEW Floor!!!

Today we had the yucky carpet in the dinning area of the kitchen replaced. It was a very long day. The children and dogs were sentenced to the back room for almost the entire time(11 am-8:00 pm). They were allowed to play outside. When Eric came home we made dinner and took that to the back room as well. However, tonight everyone is asleep in their own beds. Tomorrow we'll return furniture to its normal spot. Thank you, Lord for more new flooring!! May this home be a regular place for many to join in fellowship and fun.

Backyard Flooding

This afternoon ... in this dry and weary land ... our pool collapsed.
It is a bit of an inconvenience, But nothing devastating like the flooding in the Midwest or those suffering from hurricanes.

Remember to pray for all those who have lost much and for those helping with the clean up.

El Rancho Las Golondrinas

After taking Hannah to the airport for her trip to Maryland, the rest of us visited with friends from Mountainair. The next day we visited the El Rancho Las Golondrinas (Ranch of the Golden Swallows) in Santa Fe. It's a hands on living history museum of an early Spanish Colonial Village from the early 1700's thru the late 1800's. Home of Josafina, An American Girl. A great time was had by all!! We hope to return for another visit during one of the Fiesta Days.

VBS - Outrigger Island

This week Abby & Nathan were students, while Rachel served as a teacher's assistant at the University Baptist Church. They travel to "Outriggers Island"(Lifeway) VBS, in search of God's Unshakeable Truth!! It was a Hawiian Island theme with silly music, fun crafts and creative games. A great time was had by all.

Happy Birthday, Hannah

Hannah's Sweet 16th Birthday was yesterday. Several of her homeschool friends showed up in the late afternoon to help celebrate her special day!! Hannah and Rachel participated in a teen library program, "The Princess Bride", yesterday. It was a great way to have them out of the house so friends could show up undetected. Hannah had a hunch that there was going to be a surprise party, but she didn't know when or where. So we actually pulled of the SURPRISE element. (However, I was very tired after it was over and didn't get to put the info on my blog last night.)

Costume Party

T'was a day full of middle earth characters and fun for the teens of our local homeschool group. Most of the girls that attended this event dressed as a princess.

Isn't it amazing how we love to pretend to be daughters of the King. When God has already given us His blessings of inheirtance, because we are his children.

Big Sister! Little Sister! Aren't they cute!!
Hannah has been very diligent in helping Abby clean her room. It was a full day of sorting, organizing, finding library books, dirty laundry, lost stuffed animals, and etc.
What a blessing to have someone share in the tasks of housekeeping.
